Mission Teams - General and Specialized
Where will you go? What will you do and say? Who will you meet? This is the exciting part: this is where you get to do what you have prepared for!
General Teams
Our general teams will take you into communities where you will share Jesus' love through making new friends and helping out the ministries and outreaches that our partner churches have set up. You might be at a youth group, youth centre, camp, on the streets with an outreach bus or helping out a shelter or soup kitchen. Jesus is Lord all over the world and you will see Him do great things as you step out to travel into the unknown. Our prayer is that you will be filled with boldness from the Holy Spirit and will see your God do amazing things through your life.
Specialized - Skate / Hip Hop Teams
Your team will focus on outreach to youth in communities where the skate/hiphop culture is influencing the city in a strong way. This team will minister in 1 or 2 communities where their focus will be centered on a place like the local skate park. The team will work to set up skate competitions, clinics and freestyle dance exhibitions to allow youth to profile their skills and give you a chance to share Christ. It is important to have some skills in these areas if you are applying.
Specialized - Service Teams
This team will be involved in practical, hands-on ministry. Think of it as 'not so random' acts of kindness. You could be involved in landscaping, cutting grass, painting houses, carpentry, as well as many other things. You will be ministering to widows and single parents, families who can't afford to fix their homes, neighborhoods that need to be cleaned up, etc.
